1 (1 pound) sweet potato with skin

½ cup softened butter

1 cup white sugar

½ cup milk

Two large eggs

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

One teaspoon of vanilla extract

1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust



Bring water to a boil over a whole sweet potato placed in a pot. Fork-pierced vegetables should be soft after 40 to 50 minutes of boiling.

The oven should be preheated to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Sweet potato should be removed from the pot and rinsed with cold water. Get rid of the skin.

Sweet potato flesh should be broken up and put in a bowl. Use an electric mixer to thoroughly incorporate the butter after adding it.

Add vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, milk, nutmeg, and eggs. Beat on medium speed until the mixture is smooth.

Filling should be added to a raw pie crust.

Bake in the oven for 55 to 60 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes clean.

Before serving, remove from the oven and allow cool.
